The main duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: -

• Work with other developers and businesses to propose high quality system
• solutions to meet business goals.
• Provide support including analysis, development, testing and code review.
• Review current POS Systems, conduct tests and write technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot application issues and provide feedback for enhancement.
• Research, consult, analyse and evaluate system program needs.
• Analyse the needs of clients and then design a system to meet those needs.
• Develop POS software, check their real time sales figures and store information by their own smart phone or table pc.
• Test POS software to ensure the code is current, fix errors where they occur, and rerun and recheck the programme until it produces the correct results.
• Identify technology limitations and deficiencies in existing systems and procedures and methods.
• Debug, diagnose and correct errors and faults in applications, program language within established testing protocols, guidelines and quality.
• Maintain program code to meet system requirement, system designs and technical specifications.
• Interpret specifications and technical designs write and maintain technical program codes
• Develop, build, review and test frontend and backend software flow charts for software applications.
• Construct technical specifications and produce end user documentation and operational procedures.
• Document all tasks to ensure that subsequent users can diagnose and fix any problems that might arise in a system, as well perform any maintenance.
• Any other relevant duties or responsibilities as lawfully assigned.

The main duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: -

• Arrange project requirements in programming sequence by analyzing requirements; preparing a work flow chart and diagram using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language, and logic.
• Test, diagnose and rectify errors and faults in programming according to the protocols.
• Identify requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual clients and with other persons in a position to understand service requirements
• Program the computer by encoding project requirements in computer language; entering coded information into the computer.
• Confirm program operation by conducting tests; modifying program sequence and/or codes.
• Provide reference for use of prime and personal computers by writing and maintaining user documentation; maintaining a help desk.
• Maintain computer systems and programming guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Keep equipment operational by calling for repairs; following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; evaluating new equipment.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Develop and maintain applications and databases by evaluating client needs; analyzing requirements; developing software systems.

• Maintain operational systems by continuously monitoring and fixing any problems;
• Work closely with other employees on projects;
• Stay up-to-date on new technologies by performing research, attending courses, etc.

Skills Required.

• A knowledge of performing languages (SQL, C++, Java, etc.)
• The ability to create and diagrams, flowcharts, and other documents pertaining to coding/programming.
• Through understanding of software structures, hardware, computing systems and how to integrate them.
• A knowledge of software testing techniques, code optimisation and software debugging.

• Responsible for configuring, administering and supporting Redback’s IT network infrastructure, ensuring overall operational readiness of our network system at all times.
• Setting up, configuring and administering servers.
• Installing and configuring functions of network services and protocols.
• Troubleshooting and fault-finding services for network problems.
• Carrying out network and server preventive maintenance tasks and running health checks on all critical network equipment periodically.
• Preparing performance monitoring tools and programming applications.
• Creating test procedures to verify hardware and software designs.
• Practicing continual improvement through improving testing processes and practices.
• Maintaining testing documentation and know-how documentations and knowledge base to cover the entire IT operations
• Actively liaising with and contributing as an agile team member with solution architects, business analysts, developers, testers and DevOps to raise bugs and develop solutions as appropriate.

Skills and Experience:

• A relevant tertiary qualification, or alternatively at least five years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
• Proven network configuration experience.
• Experience with SQL Server or similar database technology.
• Proven ability to write detailed test cases and test plans.
• Proven ability in identifying a system bug and its reproducible case and documenting a bug clearly enough to be used by another person.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with developers.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing work
• The flexibility and resilience to work in a start-‐up environment.
• Excellent fault finding and problem-solving skills.
• Intellectually robust and learns quickly.
